• To turn on the lamp, press the lock/unlock button. To
turn off the lamp, press the lock/unlock button again.
NOTICE: When the tool is overheated, the lamp
flickers. Cool down the tool fully before operating
the tool again.
NOTE:
Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens of
the lamp. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, or it
may lower the illumination.
Cutting with the Plunge Base
Fitted with a Self-guided Cutter
- (Fig. 23)
• Depress the plunge lock lever and plunge the router
down until the cutter reaches the set depth.
• The ball bearing guide on the tool acts as a guide
against the material edge.
• Perform the cut.
• At the end of the cut release the plunge lock lever.
• Turn the router off.
Cutting with the Trim Base Fitted
• Set the tool base on the workpiece without the trimmer
cutter making any contact. Turn the tool on and wait
until the bit attains full speed. Move the tool forward
over the workpiece surface. Keep the tool base flush
while moving the tool.
• When cutting the edge, be sure to keep the workpiece
surface on the left side of the trimmer cutter in the feed
direction
NOTE:
Before cutting on the actual workpiece, it is
recommended to make a sample cut. The proper feed
speed depends on the trimmer cutter size, the kind of
workpiece, and depth of cut. Moving the tool forward
too fast may cause a poor quality of cut, or damage to
the bit or motor. Moving the tool forward too slowly may
burn and mar the cutting surface.
NOTICE: Since excessive cutting may cause
overload of the motor or difficulty in controlling
the tool, the depth of cut should not be more than
3 mm at a pass when cutting grooves.
When you
wish to cut grooves more than 3 mm deep, make several
passes with progressively deeper cutter depth settings.
NOTE:
Always feed the router opposite to the direction
in which the cutter is rotating.
Using the Parallel Side Fence
with Plunge Base - (Fig. 24)
• With the side fence fitted to the plunge base.
• Loosen the fence rod knobs on the base and adjust
the distance between the cutter and the parallel side
fence. At the desired distance, tighten the fence rod
knobs.
• Move the tool with the parallel side fence flush with the
side of the workpiece.
NOTE:
Always feed the router opposite to the direction
in which the cutter is rotating.
Using the Parallel Side Fence
with Trim Base - (Fig. 25)
• With the side fence fitted to the trim base.
• Loosen the knob on the straight guide and adjust the
distance between the cutter and the straight side fence
guide. At the desired distance, tighten the knob.
• Move the tool with the parallel side fence flush with the
side of the workpiece.
NOTE:
Always feed the router opposite to the direction
in which the cutter is rotating.
Using the Guide Bush in
Plunge Base - (Fig. 26 - 26b)
• Choose a cutter with a diameter which will pass
through the centre of the guide bush leaving enough
clearance.
• Set cutter plunge depth.
• Locate guide bush against template, switch on and
plunge cut to the correct depth.
• Feed in the direction as shown.
• At end of cut, release plunge and switch off machine.
NOTE:
Always feed the router opposite to the direction
in which the cutter is rotating.
CAUTION:
Turn the router on before
plunging the cutter head into the workpiece.
Using the Guide Bush in
Trim Base - (Fig. 27)
• Choose a cutter with a diameter which will pass
through the centre of the guide bush leaving enough
clearance.
• Set cutter depth.
• Locate guide bush against template, switch on
• Feed in the direction as shown.
• At end of cut, switch off machine.
NOTE:
Always feed the router opposite to the direction
in which the cutter is rotating.
