Electrical
The factory tested and installed control
box shall contain all necessary devices to
allow heating and cooling operation of
the equipment to occur from a remote
wall thermostat or zone sensor. These
devices shall be as follows:
•
24 VAC. Energy Limiting Class II, 50 VA
breaker type transformer (minimum)
•
24 VAC contactor for compressor
control
•
18 Pole terminal strip located inside the
control box behind the service access
panel. This terminal strip shall be used
for low voltage (thermostat/zone
sensor) connections.
•
An electrically operated safety lockout
relay shall help prevent cycling of the
compressor during adverse conditions
of operation. This device shall be reset
either at the remote thermostat/ zone
sensor, or by cycling power to the unit.
•
A high pressure switch shall help
protect the compressor against
operation at refrigerant system
pressure in excess of 395 psig.
•
A low pressure switch shall help
prevent compressor operation under
low charge or catastrophic loss of
charge situations.
•
Factory installed wire harness shall be
available for the Basic, Deluxe, Tracer
ZN.510 and Terminal Unit Control
packages.
Controls
Basic Controls
The basic control package shall contain a
low and high pressure switch along with
a compressor lockout relay for control
assistance. High voltage power
connections shall be made at the
equipments contactor. An optional
condensate overflow detection device
shall be made available with this control
package. Each device shall be factory
mounted, wired, and tested in the
equipment.
Deluxe Controller
The deluxe control package shall provide
a 75 VA transformer. The controller shall
include a lockout relay, anti-short cycle
compressor protection, random start
delay, brown-out protection, low
pressure time delay, compressor delay
on start and an open relay for night
setback or pump request. Optional
wiring from the factory for night setback,
condensate overflow, hot gas reheat,
electric heat and compressor enable
shall also be provided. Three LEDs (light
emitting diodes) shall also be included
for diagnostics of the equipment.
Tracer ZN.510 Controller
This system shall utilize factory furnished
and mounted DDC controls for operation
of up to 100 units on a Comm 5 link. The
Tracer ZN.510 control package shall
include a 75 VA transformer. The
controller shall provide random start
delay, heating/cooling status, occupied/
unoccupied mode, fan status and filter
maintenance options. Optional wiring
from the factory for condensate overflow
shall be available. Three LEDs (light
emitting diodes) shall be included for
diagnostics of the equipment.
Terminal Unit Controller
This system shall utilize factory furnished
and mounted DDC controls for operation
of a complete building system on a
Comm 4 link. The TUC control package
shall include a 75 VAC transformer. The
controller shall provide anti-short cycle
compressor protection, random start,
heating/cooling status, occupied/
unoccupied mode, as well as fan and
filter status options. Optional wiring from
the factory for condensate overflow, hot
gas reheat and electric heat shall be
available. Five LEDs (light emitting
diodes) shall also be included for
diagnostics of the equipment.
Unit Mounted Controls
Factory wired unit mounted controls
shall be available for both the basic and
deluxe control packages. The units low
voltage side shall be factory wired and
require no external wiring in the field.
The unit mounted device shall include a
temperature control thermostat knob,
ON/OFF control switch, manual
changeover from COOL to HEAT, and fan
speed control of HIGH and LOW.
The controls shall be accessible behind a
durable plastic cover that shall be
available with or without key-lock access.
