When treated correctly lithium-ion battery packs are safe.
Please abide by the following points to ensure the longest
lifespan and safest use of your battery:
GENERAL
Misuse of lithium-ion batteries may cause them to get hot, or ignite and
cause serious injury. Be sure to take note of the points below:
• Do not heat or place the battery in fire.
• Do not short out the battery.
• Do not penetrate the battery’s casing, or subject it to any
forceful impact.
• Do not expose the battery to water or allow the battery to get wet.
• Do not disassemble or modify the battery. The battery contains
safety and protection devices which, if damaged, may cause the
battery to generate heat, explode or ignite.
• Do not place the battery in microwave ovens, high pressure
containers, or induction cookware.
• Do not connect any other power sources to the battery other than
the chargers supplied with the battery pack.
• Do not link battery packs together in any way.
• Immediately discontinue using the battery if it emits an unusual
smell, feels hot, changes colour, changes shape, or appears abnormal
in any other way. Place the battery in a dry location outside.
• In the unlikely event that the battery catches fire, contain by applying
water and cover with a fire blanket or damp towel. This should only
be done when the battery is disconnected from the mains charger.
• When your battery has reached the end of its life dispose of it
responsibly by contacting your local refuse centre. Do not dispose of
in general waste.
