HUE ERROR
Hue error indicates the variation of a specific ink relative to
the ideal ink. Theoretically, ideal ink has a hue error of zero.
Since ideal ink does not exist, it is necessary to measure the
ink sample and communicate this information to the color
separator. The color separator can then make the adjustments
to the film to achieve the best possible colors.
Hue Error Equation:
% Hue Error =
(D
mid
- D
min
) x 100
D
max
- D
min
Where:
D
max
=
High density value
D
mid
=
Middle density value
D
min
=
Low density value
Measurement Location:
Hue error measurement is made at the solid tone patches on
the color bar.
