DYNAMIC LASER CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM 2008 - 2012 SEQUOIA
Quick Training Guide – QT512A
• The laser sensor emits a laser beam toward the preceding
vehicle.
• The laser sensor receiving portion detects the light reflected
from the preceding vehicle.
•
The ECU inside the laser sensor then takes the light received
by the sensor and converts it into an electrical signal.
• From this electrical signal, the preceding vehicle’s distance
and angle can be determined.
The following information explains general operation of the
dynamic laser cruise control sensor and covers the key points
of laser sensor adjustment.
How the laser sensor works:
Always keep the sensor clean to ensure the vehicle-to-
vehicle distance control operates properly. Obstructions
such as snow, ice or plastic objects cannot be detected by
the obstruction sensor and may cause the dynamic laser
cruise system to cancel.
