DISPOSAL OF THE UNIT

The WEEE directive, introduced in August 2006, states that all electrical items must be
recycled, rather than taken to landfill.
Please arrange to take this appliance to your local Civic Amenity site
for recycling, once it has reached the end of its life.
8 - Recycling
1. Remove plug from the mains socket, and allow the appliance to cool down before
cleaning.
2. Clean the appliance after each use.
3. Do not immerse the base unit of the appliance in water and make sure no water enters
the appliance.
4. Clean the base unit by wiping it with a damp cloth. A little detergent can be added if the
appliance is heavily soiled.
5. Do not use scouring pads, steel wool or any form of strong solvents or abrasive cleaning
agents to clean the appliance, as they may damage the outside surfaces of the appliance.
6. Remove the lid and the inner pot. Clean with detergent first then rinse well with water and
dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
7. Clean the internal side of the lid with water. Remove the seal ring, block proof cover,
exhaust valve and float valve for washing. Dry them with a cloth and place them properly
back into the lid. Dry the internal side of the lid with a cloth.
8. Clean the rest of the accessories in soapy warm water. Do not use any scouring pads,
steel wool or any strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents when cleaning accessories.
9. Periodically clean the Express Pot to remove oil and dirt if it is stored on a table.
