LOCATING THE DOOR CONTROLLER
... The door controller should be located in a
position away from extremes of heat, dust vibration and fumes. It should be protected
from excessive condensation, hosing and direct sunlight. Choose a location as near as
possible to both Reader and the device to be operated, that will allow room for
maintenance. The door controller is fixed to the mounting surface by using up to four
mounting holes in the rear of the case. Use plastic plugs if screwing to a solid wall.
CABLING
... Cabling can enter the door controller from the top or bottom via the case
knockouts for cable glands or 20mm conduit entry. Communications is via TCP/IP
connection to the local or wide area network using standard network cable, such as CAT5.
Manufacturer specified cable
should be used to connect
between the door controller and
the readers, PIN pad, door lock,
turnstile or barrier to be operated.
If an alarm, break glass, remote
entry switch, or door open switch is
required, consideration of these
cable requirements should also be
made.
