HECP1A EMC Shield Kit
The HECP1A kit includes a metal EMI shield and five screws. When the HCTU1A processor is
installed in a wall/floor-mount Strata CIX base cabinet the shield is necessary to meet FCC
requirement for EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) for the Strata CIX1200 system.
The HECP1A shield kit is not required in rack-mount cabinets or, when any other processor is installed
in a wall/floor-mount base cabinet.
Kit Installation
The kit contains the shield plate and the five screws needed to secure the shield to the inside of the
Strata CIX cabinet front cover.
The following steps detail the installation of the metal shield plate in the front cover. Refer to the Strata
CIX Installation and Maintenance Manual for other installation requirements and procedures.

Remove the Base Cabinet front cover.
2.
Place the cover face down on a clean surface.
3.
Set the shield in the cover. Align the holes in the shield with the mounting boss holes in the
cover.
