New features of the SoftIPT 2.2
The SoftIPT 2.2 supports all of the features found in SoftIPT 2.0 plus the following:
•
Full support for Microsoft Windows VISTA®
•
G.729a codec
•
Echo canceller on Windows VISTA® and Windows 2000® in addition to Windows XP® using Intel
Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP)
Competitive Advantages
The SoftIPT 2.2 now allows you to use the G.729a codec in addition to G.711. The G.729a codec will allow
for more simultaneous phone calls given the same amount of bandwidth. In addition, Windows Vista,
Windows XP and Windows 2000 users running on an Intel based platform will also be able to take
advantage of the new echo canceling feature using the provided Intel IPP application
The SoftIPT 2.2 incorporates all of the new features introduced in the SoftIPT 2.0 including full support for
IP User Mobility. With IP User Mobility, the user can configure the SoftIPT for manual login mode allowing
multiple users to share the SoftIPT without reconfiguration. A user can log into his personal extension even
if the extension number is currently being used on another SoftIPT or IPT set.
Outlook users now have the ability to use multiple Outlook profiles. The SoftIPT still has the option for
running in the background. PC users can continue to perform their daily work operation and have the
SoftIPT reside in the system tray. In response to the voice of the customer, we have implemented support
for a primary and a secondary IP address. When the SoftIPT starts up, it tries to connect to the primary IPU
address. If the attempt is unsuccessful, the SoftIPT will automatically try the secondary IPU address.
