In this chapter you will find information regarding safety which is essential to take note of
with your DVD drive.
Safety
This device complies with the relevant safety regulations for data processing equipment, including
electronic office machines for use in an office environment. If you have any questions, contact your
sales outlet or our customer service center.
This device has been developed for use in approved systems with a fire-proof casing (in
accordance with IEC 950 / EN 60950).
Note the power loss and the notes on environmental conditions in the "Important notes" chapter
of the system unit's Operating Manual.
This device contains a light-emitting diode, classified according to IEC 825-1:1993: LASER
CLASS 1 (LUOKAN 1 LASERLAITE, KLASS 1 LASER APPARAT), and must not be opened.

Compliance was tested in a typical system configuration.
When installing the drive, observe the specific installation notes in the Operating

Installation

Manual of the system unit or in the manual "Safety, Guarantee and Ergonomics".
The following steps must be performed to install the DVD drive:
Setting the DVD drive (e. g. SCSI address, terminating resistor)
Mounting the DVD drive
Connecting the DVD drive
Installing the SCSI drivers required

For information on installing the SCSI drivers, please refer to the documentation
accompanying the software.
A DVD player (MPEG-2 hardware or software) for playing DVD videos is not included in
the DVD drive package.
