Using TV’s features
Long life setting
The Long life setting allows you to prevent or mitigate the permanent after-image on the screen. See page 8 for the detail of
the permanent after-image.
There are 4 modes in the Long life setting; Picture shift, Side panel, Inverse, White pattern.
The Picture shift mode and Side panel are effective against preventing the permanent after-image, and the Inverse mode
and the White pattern mode are useful for mitigating the deterioration of the previously-generated permanent after-image.
Long life setting
To use the long life feature:
Press the
MENU
button, then
press the or button to
display the FUNCTION menu.
Press the or button select
Long life, then press the
OK
button to display the Long life
menu.
Press the or button to
select the mode you prefer.
Picture shift
Picture moves intermittently.
Press the or button to set to On. To deactivate, set to Off.
It is recommended to set to On because the Picture shift mode is
useful for preventing the permanent after-image. On is set by
default.
Side panel
Adjust the Side panel setting to prevent permanent after-image of
the boundary lines between the side panels and picture in 14:9 or
4:3 mode.
Press the or button to adjust.
The more you turn the brightness high, the more effective is
obtained.
Inverse
Picture will be inversed.
Press the
OK
button. Confirm the
dialogue box and press the
OK
button.
To recover from Inverse, press any
button.
The picture is displayed alternately
between positive image and negative image to reduce the
permanent after-image of the screen.
White pattern
Produces an entirely white screen.
Press the
OK
button. Confirm the
dialogue box and press the
OK
button.
To recover from White pattern, press
any button.
After the result of the permanent after-image, the image retention
may be mitigated if you keep on the White pattern for about half a
day.
Note:
When you select Picture shift with
selecting PC input source, belt may
appear in the upper, lower, right or left
side of the screen, or parts of the picture
may be obscured depending on some
signals. This is not the malfunction.
