CAUTION-
Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire. The batteries may explode.
-
CAUTION-
Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Released electrolyte is harmful to the eyes
and skin and could also be toxic.
-
CAUTION-
A battery can present a risk of electrical shock and high short circuit current. The
following precautions should be observed when working on the batteries:
1) Verify that the UPS is off and that the power cord is disconnected from the power
source.
2) Remove watches, rings or other metal objects.
3) Use tools with insulated handles to prevent inadvertent shorts.
4) Wear rubber gloves and boots.
5) Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
6) Determine if the battery is inadvertently grounded. If inadvertently grounded, remove
source of ground.
Contact with any part of a grounded battery can result in electrical
shock.
The likelihood of such shock will be reduced if such grounds are removed during
installation and maintenance.
