Contact with uninsulated or damaged parts can result in severe physical

Avoid touching the contacts.
■
Do not undertake any repair work whatsoever yourself.
■
Never touch scuffed or severed wiring or obviously defective components.
■
If you notice a defect, immediately switch off the battery.
■
Avoid contact with electrical components in water.
■
Prevent mechanical forces from working on the batteries and cables.
Charge the Power 48-5000 completely before start-up to perform calibration of the
charging status, see Chapter 8.2, "Charge".
5.1 Interconnection of batteries
Connections in series
CAUTION!
Damage to the battery.
The battery can be damaged through connection in series.

Never interconnect the batteries in series.
Connections in parallel
ADVICE
Connections in parallel are possible only with a maximum of two batteries.
ADVICE
For two Power 48-5000 units connected in parallel, the Torqeedo Gateway Kit
2217-00 is required.
5.2 Installation
CAUTION!
Damage to the battery from incorrect installation.
Material damage can result.

Never stack the battery.
■
Never step on the battery.
■
Never lean on the battery.
■
Do not place any objects on the battery.
■
Always install the battery so that the battery lid points upwards.
■
Chose a dry installation location that cannot be flooded.
