WARNING
Charging the battery produces gasses that can
explode.
Never smoke near the battery and keep sparks and
flames away from battery.
Important:
Always keep the battery fully charged
(1.265 specific gravity). This is especially important
to prevent battery damage when the temperature is
below 32°F (0°C).
1. Remove the battery from the machine.
2. Charge the battery for 10 to 15 minutes at 25 to 30
amps or 30 minutes at 10 amps.
3. When the battery is fully charged, unplug the charger
from the electrical outlet, then disconnect the
charger leads from the battery posts (Figure 58).
4. Install the battery in the machine and connect the
battery cables, refer to Installing the Battery.
Note:
Do not run the machine with the battery
disconnected, electrical damage may occur.

Servicing the Fuses
The electrical system is protected by fuses. It requires
no maintenance, however, if a fuse blows check the
component/circuit for a malfunction or short.
1. The fuses are located on right hand console next to
the seat (Figure 59).
2. To replace the fuses, pull out on the fuse to remove
it.
3. Install a new fuse (Figure 59).

Jump Starting the Machine
1. Check and clean corrosion from the battery terminals
before jump starting. Ensure the connections are
tight.
CAUTION
Corrosion or loose connections can cause
unwanted electrical voltage spikes at anytime
during the jump starting procedure.
Do Not attempt to jump start with loose or
corroded battery terminals or damage to the
engine or EFI may occur.
