7. Using a spring-removal tool (Toro Part No.
92-5771), remove the spring from the anchor
bracket on the engine deck (
Figure 52 ).
Note:
Leave the other end of the spring
attached to the frame of the machine.

8. Remove the bolt and nut that secure the rear
bracket for the engine deck hinge to the frame
of the machine (
Figure 53 ).

9. Lift up the rear edge of the engine deck and
remove the hinge bracket (
Figure 53 ).
10. Slide the engine deck rearward and out from the
forward hinge bracket (

Do not remove the forward hinge bracket.
