Side-Discharging the
Clippings
Installing the Side-Discharge
Chute
1. Lift up the rear deflector ( Figure 14 ).

Note:
If the grass bag is on the machine,
remove it; refer to Removing the Grass Bag
(page 14) .
2. Insert the rod ends of the side-discharge chute
into the notches on the handle brackets (
Figure
14 ).
3. Allow the rear deflector to rest on the chute.
Removing the Side-Discharge
Chute
1. Lift up the rear deflector ( Figure 14 ).
2. Lift the side-discharge chute out form the
notches on the handle brackets and remove the
chute from the machine.
3. Close the rear deflector.
Shutting Off the Machine
1. Release the blade-control bar (A of Figure 15 ).
2. Remove the electric-start button from the electric
starter (B of
Figure 15 ).
3. Remove the battery pack; refer to Removing the
Battery Pack from the Machine (page 15) .
Note:
Whenever you are not using the machine,
remove the battery pack.

1. Lift up the battery-compartment lid.
2. Press the battery-pack latch to release the
battery pack and remove the battery pack.
3. Close the battery-compartment lid.
