LUBRICATION
GREASING BEARINGS AND BUSHINGS
The traction unit has grease fittings that must be
lubricated regularly with No. 2 General Purpose
Lithium Base Grease. If the machine is operated
under normal conditions, lubricate all bearings and
bushings after every 50 hours of operation or imme-
diately after every washing. Bearings and bushings
must be lubricated daily when operating conditions
are extremely dusty and dirty. Dusty and dirty oper-
ating conditions could cause dirt to get into the bear-
ings and bushings, resulting in accelerated wear.
Apply a liberal coating of grease to the check valve
pins once each year (Fig. 14). The traction unit has
bearings and bushings that must be lubricated, and
these lubrication points are shown in the following
figures.
1.
Wipe grease fitting clean so foreign matter can-
not be forced into the bearing or bushing.
2.
Pump grease into the bearing or bushing.
3.
Wipe up excess grease.
