To match output stages to inputs of different types, the output stag-
es of universal outputs (Fig.B.2) are designed to work with either the in-
ternal power source (active mode) or an external power source (passive
mode). In standard supply configuration the output stages are in the
passive mode.
In the active mode and in case that

", output voltage in the logic mode and pulse amplitude in the
pulse mode is within 3.3 to 3.6 V. In case of no pulse or at logic "

the output voltage is no more than 0.4 V. External load resistance shall
be 500 kOhm as a minimum.
In the passive mode, power from an external power source with
output DC voltage from 5 to10 V can be applied. Permissible value of
external load current is no more than 10 mA.
The output stage is connected to the internal power 3.6V
with SK1 switch.
For the universal outputs, length of signal cables should be up to
300 m.
