CTI Software Installation

To install the optional Deskmaster PC software on your PC, please proceed as follows:
• Insert the CD with the Deskmaster software into your CD drive.
• If the setup program does not start automatically, click on Star t in the Taskbar and then

Run . Select <CD-DRIVE>\setup.exe

• The setup program will be started. Please follow the on-screen instructions and enter the

data requested.

• Restart the computer, if the program prompts you to do so.

PC Telephony with the Deskmaster PC Softwar

e

After the installation of the Deskmaster PC Software, you will find a new program group
“Topcom Telephony”.

You can start the application by clicking on Star t in the Taskbar and then selecting
Programs –> Topcom Telephony –> Deskmaster

.

You will see a Telephone user interface, similiar to your phone on the desk, appearing on
your PC screen.

This CTI application offers several comfortable facilities to control and administrate tele-
phone traffic from the PC screen. 
A CD-rom with a basic CTI application is included. An extended CTI application is also avail-
able. It offers an elaborate range of possibilities, described in the follwing pages. Ask you
dealer for more information.

Establishing Connection with Internet Provider via Dial-Up Network

• Go to “My computer”.
• Select “Control panel” option.
• Select “Dial-up network” option.
• Select “Make new connection”.
• Enter a suitable name for dial-up networking.
• Select the Mediatec iPhone modem.
• Select “Configure” option in “Select a modem” field.
• Set the right COMM port and speed.
• Select “Connection” option.
• Select “Advanced” option.
• Select “Extra settings” option.
• In this field modem strings can be entered (depending on the Provider).

ATF1 for X75 Protocol
or ATF2 for HDLC Protocol

• Select “OK” option.
• Select “OK” option.
• Select “Next” option.
• Enter the telephone number with prefix of the Internet Provider (see Internet Provider).
• Select “Finish” (for Windows 98).

Select “Server type” (for Windows 95).

• Select “Server type” (see Internet Provider).
• Select “TCP/IP settings” and fill in the right data (see Internet Provider).
• Select “OK”.

Windows 98

• Select “OK”.
• Go to the just made Dial-Up Network Connection.
• Press the right mouse button.
• Select “Properties” option.
• Select “Server type” (see Internet Provider).
• Select “TCP/IP settings” and fill in the right data (see Internet Provider).
• Select “OK”.

• The Internet connection is now established and all settings are done.
