6.3.5 Rocker Pivot Bearings
Like the Apron pivot, grease is applied directly to the apron bearings via a gallery in the rocker
axle. Once the bearing retainer has been filled and grease has been purged from the seal in the
sleeve a minimal amount of grease is required at each interval. The minimum required is 2-3
pumps daily for normal conditions. The grease also acts as a barrier for contaminants and a more
frequent greasing of 2-3 times per day will improve life.

6.3.6 Summary

NOTE: Ideally an auto greasing system which administers smaller dosages more frequently has
been shown to provide bearing life of tens of thousands of hours.
NOTE: Insufficient greasing will dramatically shorten the life of the bearings and can lead to
damage of other components like shafts and housings. The key indicator of lack of sufficient
greasing is the presence of contamination. Damage which has occurred due to insufficient
greasing will not be covered under warranty.
