b) Battery information
• Operation with rechargeable batteries is possible. However, the operating time is
reduced by the lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V). There-
fore, we recommend operating the product only with high-quality alkaline batteries
to ensure long and reliable operation.
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swal-
lowed by children or pets. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swal-
lowed. Risk of death!
• Always ensure that the batteries are inserted in the correct polarity (observe the
plus/+ and minus/- symbols).
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled
or thrown into a fire. This may cause a fire or explosion!
• Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as this may cause an explo-
sion. Only charge rechargeable batteries; use a suitable battery charger.
• Old or flat batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the product. If not
used for a longer period (e.g., in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/
rechargeable batteries.
• Contact of leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries with the skin can
cause acid burns; therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are chemically highly aggres-
sive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids could be severely
damaged. Therefore, keep batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries. Do not mix
non-rechargeable/rechargeable batteries with different charges (flat and half-dis-
charged non-rechargeable/rechargeable batteries).
• Use either 2 batteries or 2 rechargeable batteries; never mix standard batteries
with rechargeable batteries. Use only non-rechargeable/rechargeable batteries of
the same model and type and from the same manufacturer.
• For the correct disposal of batteries, please read the chapter “Disposal”.
Controls
1 Union nut (with removable metal coarse
filter) for connection to the water tap
2 Red “OFF” LED
3 Green “ON” LED
4 Inner ring with green LEDs for watering

Inserting Batteries, Replacing Batteries
• Move the front part of the watering timer
slightly to the left anti-clockwise and remove
it carefully.
• Lift the battery cover up.
• Insert three AAA/Micro batteries into the
battery compartment, paying attention to
the correct polarity (observe po and
negative/-). The respective figure in the bat-
tery compartment will help you to ensure that
you have the correct polarity.
• After inserting the batteries, all LEDs on the front light up briefly and then go out again.
• Replace the battery compartment cover and close the watering timer again (only one position
between the front and rear is correct). When doing this, be careful not to squash the mains
cable.
• The batteries need to be replaced if the LEDs on the watering timer no longer light up during
programming or if no further switching processes are being carried out.
