1.4 Outline
1.4.1 Application purpose
This instrument is designed to measure the objective refractometry, corneal curvature,
intraocular pressure, (contactless measurement), corneal thickness and radius of corneal
curvature by corneal shape of the patient's eyes.
1.4.2 Operational Principle
This device operates measurement alignment and measurement based on the operational
principles below.
1.4.2.1 Measurement Alignment
Chinrest up/down button

After patient’s head is correctly
positioned in contact with the forehead pad and the chinrest,
chinrest up/down buttons adjust alignment of the patient by DC motor to allow for
measurement.
Measurement head movement
It is possible to drive the DC motor for up and down / right and left / back and forward and to
move the measurement head position on the appropriate position using the joystick operation
or the touch panel operation on the LCD screen. Furthermore it is possible to use the alignment
mode which is moving the appropriate position automatically if it reaches within a specified
range near the measurement alignment.
1.4.2.2 Measurement
At first, choose the measurement function with the touch panel on the LCD screen.
There are 2 types of measurement mode, one type is hand measuring type using a joystick
button and another type is auto measuring tyep that starts measuring when the head comes int
the appropriate position.
Objective refractive power
To start measurement, fixation target is shown inside the instrument in order to mitigate
accommodation, and then, measurement is carried out. Objective refractive power is calculated
