6 The X Configuration
Tool
The X Configuration Tool is a general software used by all Tobii X Series Eye Trackers
for configuring the parameters necessary in order for accurate eye tracking to be
possible.
The tool allows for any kind of eye tracker setup, but requires more measurements
than when using the Tobii X1 Light Eye Tracker Configuration Guide. The X
Configuration Tool must be used for all setups where either the Desk Stand or Laptop
Mounting Bracket is used. It is also necessary to use the X Configuration Tool when
using the eye tracker in setups where the Tobii X1 Light Eye Tracker Configuration
Guide cannot be displayed on the screen on which the eye tracker is mounted.
6.1 Accessing the X Configuration Tool
The X Configuration Tool is installed when running the Installation Guide for the Tobii
X1 Light Eye Tracker. It is also installed when installing Tobii Eye Tracking tools or
when installing Tobii Studio.
The tool is available from the Eye Tracker browser, which can be found in the folder
Windows Start menu > All Programs > Tobii if Tobii Eye Tracking tools are installed.
To launch the X Configuration Tool from the Eye Tracker browser, click on the eye
tracker that should be configured in the list and then on the X Config Tool... button.
