5 The Configuration
Guide
Upon restarting your computer after running the Tobii X1 Light Eye Tracker Installation
Guide, mounting the mounting bracket or adhesive mounting bracket and Tobii X1
Light Eye Tracker to your monitor and connecting the power and USB cables, the
Tobii X1 Light Eye Tracker Configuration Guide will automatically start.
This guide is designed to simplify the configuration of the eye tracker when either
the monitor- or adhesive mounting bracket is used. When any other setup is used,
the X Configuration Tool should be used instead. (The X Configuration Tool can
be launched from within the Configuration Guide, from within the Tobii Eye Tracker
Browser found in the Tobii folder in the Start menu or from the eye tracker browser
found in Tobii Studio.)
The dimensions of screens differ in terms of thickness as well as the position of
the VESA mount on the back of the screen. Because of this, certain assumptions
regarding these measurement have been made in the Cofiguration Guide software.
This means that it will not be able to provide configurations that give optimal accuracy
and precision for all screens. To achieve optimal accuracy and precision, the X
Configuration Tool must be used.
