7.1.2.2 Operation - Method 2
The second method relies on finding a point as far away as possible that is straight ahead of the runway.
This point is our reference point and all fixtures in the row will be adjusted with respect to it. The last fixture in
the approach line could also be used as the reference point.
1.
Loosen the 3 screws of the adjustment plate on the underside of the light fixture using a 5 mm Allen
key.
2.
Aim the vertical center line of the optical scope reticle at the reference point.
Using this method, we assume that the chosen reference point is so far away that even if the point is
not exactly straight ahead, the deviation will result in a very small deviation in angle.
If the reference point is 300 m ahead of the fixture, a deviation of 1 meter horizontally from the center-
line will result in an angle deviation of less than 0.2 degrees.
3.
Make sure tilt and roll is OK by checking that the spirit level is within the black tolerance circle.
4.
Tighten the 3 screws of the adjustment plate on the underside of the light fixture:
5.
Tighten the 3 screws of the adjustment plate on the underside of the light fixture to a torque of 9 Nm
using a torque wrench.
7.1.3 Storage
1.
Dismount the telescope by loosening the butterfly nut.
2.
Replace the dust cap and store the device in its case in a clean and dry environment.
