until blade has cut through to other side, do not
move saw along intended cut line until the blade
has cut through and base plate is laying flat on
material. For other materials: In materials other
than wood when cutting window holes, first use a
drill or similar tool to drill a hole from which initial
cutting will begin.
12. Angular cutting
To adjust the base plate bevel angle, loosen
the angle adjustment clamping mechanism by
turning the lever counter-clockwise (see fig11).
The base plate can now be rotated from 0º to 45º,
left or right. Bevel angles are stamped onto the
bracket on the underside of the base. Hold the
base plate at the desired angle and firmly tighten
the angle adjustment screw, by turning the lever
clockwise for operation. (See fig12)
Note:
The base plate clamping lever is fitted with
an engagement/disengagement mechanism. To
disengage the lever, in order to reposition the
lever handle when the clamping mechanism
becomes too loose or too tight, simply pull the
lever backwards to disengage the mechanism.
The lever can now be rotated to the left or
right, in order to tighten or loosen the clamping
mechanism. (See fig13) If the angle adjustment
screw becomes too loose, it will rotate with the
lever. Use a screwdriver to prevent the angle
adjustment screw from rotating, pull the lever
backwards to disengage the mechanism, move
the lever to the right, re-engage the mechanism
and then turn the lever clockwise to tighten the
clamping mechanism while holding the screw
with the screwdriver. (See fig14)
