or more. Zincs are also provided on the propeller shafts, as the shafts are not

connected to the bonding system and made of stainless steel. The trim tabs are

connected to the bonding system and they also have zincs for added protection.
These zincs must also be checked periodically and replaced as necessary.

The bonding system is connected to the main D.C. ground bus along with the A.C.

ground bus. This establishes the water as ground potential and helps prevent
the existence of electrical potential on exposed metallic hardware and electrical
equipment.

CAUTION

!

Owner installed components that are below the waterline must also be connected
to the bonding system. Comparable wire sizes (86A) and terminals must be used,
and should be connected directly to the nearest bonding system terminal strip.
Failure to do so may result in severe galvanic corrosion or stray current of the
item, and possible premature failure, resulting in a water leak.
