3.3 Power Supply
The VD82EX compact vacuummeter is equipped with an internal rechargeable
Ni-MH battery for power supply. When the battery is fully charged, maximum
operation time is about 100 hours before the battery has to be recharged again
over the internal charging socket. When battery charge is low the display shows
"batt".
Charging Procedure
The Ni-MH battery has to be charged solely outside explosive
areas by means of the corresponding type of plug-in charging
adapter VD8NEX or VD8NEXUS.
It is not allowed to open the cover of the battery compartment
inside explosive areas!
1. Push the battery cover downwards and open the battery compartment.
2. Plug coupler to the charging cable of the mains adapter.
3. Plug coupler into the charging socket of the VD82EX.
4. Connect the mains adapter to mains supply. The charging LED is on and the
battery starts charging. The required charging time depends on the batterys
rest charge and is maximum 14 hours.
5. Charging time is controlled by the user. When charging is finished disconnect
the mains adapter from mains supply. Then remove the coupler of the
charging cable from the charging socket of the VD82EX.
6. Close the battery cover.
