9.6. Log
Out
When the user enters a password, the user is considered ‘logged in’ with full access permission. The Log Out button
provides a quick method of returning to the normal access permission level. If no password has been setup, the
Toolbar-Log Out button is permanently greyed. If a password has been setup, the Toolbar-Log Out button is enabled
whenever the user has ‘logged in’ by entering the password.
9.7. Exit/Close
In the default Home Screen, the final toolbar button displays Exit. This will close the Application. When the Tablet
is connected to a Vytran module, the button displays Close, this allows the user to return to the default Main Screen
so the Tablet can be connected to a different Vytran module.
9.8. Parameter
Description
LDC401 / LDC401A are designed to provide easy operation when performing simple cleaves but still support
customized processing for more complicated cleaves involving specialty fibers. A complete list of modifiable
parameters is listed below. The majority of users will only need to enter the Fiber Diameter (cladding), Cleave
Tension, and Pre-Cleave Advance while leaving the rest of the parameters set to their default values.
Parameter
Description
Fiber Diameter
The diameter of the fiber cladding to be cleaved. Other recommended values are
derived from this.
Cleave Tension
(grams)
This parameter is the load, in grams, applied axially to the fiber prior to initiating the
scribe. The Tablet Controller provides manual and
Auto Parameter
options for
setting the Cleave Tension. The optimal Cleave Tension depends on the cross
sectional area of the fiber and its material properties. The
Auto Parameter
option will
provide the appropriate Cleave Tension for silica fibers based on the Fiber Diameter
currently specified in the file. These cleavers are calibrated using standard weights;
the Cleave Tension settings are programmed into the Tablet Controller in grams.
Possible settings correspond to a range of tensions from 9.8 mN (0.0022 lbs) to
63.7 N (14.3 lbs).
Cleave Rotation
Angle
(degrees,
LDC401A Only)
This parameter is the Rotation Angle, in degrees, applied by the right side FHB prior
to initiating the Tension Process. The optimal Rotation Angle for a specific resultant
angled cleave is dependent upon the cross sectional area of the fiber, material
properties of the glass, and the tension applied. The Tablet Controller has an
Auto
Parameter
function to estimate this value for a user specified target Angle. See
Section 9.5.3 for more information. Set the Rotation Angle to 0° for a perpendicular
cleave.
