There is a number on each face of the ACU that corresponds to the axis that the
knob controls. The piezo cables from the manipulator should be plugged into
the corresponding receptacle. If desired, the cables can be interchanged when
connecting them to the control unit so that a specific knob can control any stage.

It is also possible to adjust the resistance to turning of the large knob to enhance
the tactile feedback (refer to

Section 7.2: Adjusting the Friction of the ACU
