LIMITATIONS OF USE
WARNINGS:
• Upon delivery and before each use, inspect the battery pack to check for any
eventual damage. DO NOT drain the battery if it seems damaged. DO NOT use
a battery that emits odors, generates heat, or shows discoloration or leakage.
•
DO NOT expose the battery pack to heat, fi re, or shock.
• DO NOT heat the battery over 80 °C (176 °F).
• Exposure to high temperatures can reduce battery capacity and performance.
• DO NOT expose the battery to sources of heat or sunlight.
• DO NOT use this equipment in the presence of mixtures containing anesthetic
substances, fl ammable air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.
• Unless otherwise indicated, DO NOT sterilize or immerse the battery pack in
water, solvents, lubricants or other cleansing chemicals, or even expose them to
those substances. Keep the battery clean and dry.
• DO NOT short-circuit, crush, open, tear, incinerate, or disassemble the bat-
tery pack. Never store a bulk of batteries in a box or drawer where they could
short-circuit or be short-circuited by metallic objects. Damage increases the
risk of chemical burns due to electrolyte spills, fi re or explosion. For replacement
instructions, contact your local distributor.
• In case of leakage of liquids from the battery, avoid skin contact. In case of con-
tact, wash the aff ected area with plenty of water and consult a doctor. In case of
ingestion of a cell or whole battery pack, consult your doctor immediately. Keep
the battery pack out of reach of children.

OXYGEN

ViVi
®
System. The use of any other battery may cause fi re, explosion, elec-
tric shock, or injury.
• Use the battery pack only for the intended applications.
• When using medical equipment, such as this battery pack, comply with the elec-
tromagnetic compatibility (CEM) procedures provided by your hospital.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BATTERY HANDLING
• DO NOT remove the battery from its original packaging until it is used.
• Upon delivery, your battery is in a shipping mode and will not deliver power.
Before fi rst use, put the battery into the charger to wake it up.
• After long storage periods, a full charging/discharging cycle might be necessary
to regain full battery capacity.
• Dispose the battery pack as described in the Disposal / Recycling section of
this manual.
• Rechargeable batteries achieve their optimum performance at room tempera-
ture, at 20 °C ± 5 °C (68 °F ± 10 °F).
• Store the original product documentation for future reference.
