PART 6 MAINTENANCE AND CARE
6-1
CLEANING AND CARE
Cleaning, care and decontamination of the slide
stainer depends on how frequently the instrument
is used. However, it is recommended to shut the
instrument off every 6 - 8 weeks.
Please proceed as follows:
Make sure that all protocols have been
finished.
Remove the baskets with slides.
Shut down the instrument in a controlled way.
Turn off the mains switch of the instrument and
unplug the unit.
Open the hood.
Danger:
Open the hood completely so that it
reaches its stable end position. To
avoid damage to the instrument or
injuries of persons, keep and close the hood on its
handle.
Remove the bath covers and clean them with
appropriate agents outside the instrument.
Remove the bath containers and dispose of
the contents according to the rules and
regulations of the respective lab.
Reagent containers, stainless steel surfaces,
entry and exit stations can be cleaned with all
disinfectants for surface treatments on the
basis of alcohol, which are listed in the
regulations of the respective country.
Note:
For stainless steel surfaces use
commercially available household
cleaners for stainless steel with a
humid cloth or a sponge. Do not use cleaning
sponges made of steel wool and products
containing vinegar, citric acid or hydrochloride
acid.
Then unhinge the entry and exit stations,
remove them and clean them with appropriate
agents.
Clean the hood with a glass detergent.
Note:
When cleaning the instrument,
please note that only slightly humid
tissues are used.
