Allocated Buffering Size 
This parameter allows an administrator to adjust the size of the buffer dedicated to 
Samba clients. The default size of 2GB generally results in improved Samba client 
performance. However, Mac OS X may incorrectly display file sizes under 2GB. 

 

UNIX Extension 
The default is enable for Samba usage, with situation using Mac OSX with smb 
connection may have permission issue. When it happened, please setup “UNIX 
Extension” disable to get issue solved.   

 
Hide Temporary Files 
If enabled, it will hide Mac OS X temporary files on the NAS when viewed in 
Windows. 

 

 

 

Samba Recycle Bin 
The Thecus IP storage is supported recycle bin via SMB/CIFS protocol.   
 
Simply enable the “Recycle Bin” function and “Recycle Folder Display” then all of 
deleted files/folders will reside in the “_NAS_Recycle_(Associated RDID Volume)” 
share folder.
