WARNING
:
Risk of electrical shock.
If the whirlpool is equipped
with a 1.5 kW heater, there is one electrical circuit. If the whirlpool is
equipped with a 4 kW heater, two electrical circuits are used. Make sure
that both electrical circuits are turned off before servicing the whirlpool.
NOTE:
See “Replacing Tee Fitting” if the pressure switch tee fitting is to
be replaced during whirlpool circulation harness repairs. If you are not
replacing the tee fitting in the whirlpool harness, the old and new
pressure switch housings will need to be disassembled and the new
pressure switch transferred to the old housing.
1.
With the bath drained, turn all power to the unit off.
2.
Disconnect the ground wire from the heater.
3.
Disconnect the heater control cord at the J4 plug on the control.
4.
Heaters rated at 4 kW have a separate junction box to supply heater
power. Open the junction and mark the wiring before disconnecting
the 4 kW heater.
5.
Remove the heater from the suction line of the whirlpool harness.
Save the O-rings/gaskets for installation of the replacement heater.
