4.  Safety Instructions

Attention: Using accumulator-driven tools some
principal safety rules including the following must
be observed to avoid the danger of fire, leaking
accumulators and personal injury.
1.

Before starting the machine for the first time,
read the instructions for use carefully and
acquaint yourself with the way of using the
machine. Pay heed to all cautions and safety
instructions and follow all instructions in order
to avoid injuries. Store the instructions for use
carefully for later reference.

2.

Every use of the hedge trimmers for cutting a
hedge is connected with the risk of an injury.
Therefore before using the machine, first
acquaint yourself with all the safety instruc-
tions.

3.

These hedge trimmers are designed according
to the state-of-the-art technology and according
to recognized safety and technical rules. In
spite of that, risk of serious injury to the user or
to third persons can arise when the hedge
trimmers are used. Therefore follow the
instructions for use.

4.

Before performing any work on the machine
such as maintenance or treatment, take out
the batteries.

5.

Young people aged under 16 must not operate
the hedge hedge trimmers. Lend the hedge
trimmers only to such persons who are
generally acquainted with handling them. On
every such occasion, the manual with the
instructions for use should also be given to the
person concerned.

6.

Do not use the hedge trimmers if other persons,
children or domestic animals are found nearby.

7.

Wear suitable working clothes, i.e. protective
glasses, protective means for ears, non-
slippery shoes and working gloves. Do not
wear broad clothes which could be caught by
the moving parts.

8. Take out the batteries before cleaning the

machine, removing the blocking or performing
the inspection and maintenance works.

9. When working with the hedge trimmers, always

take a stabile standing position, particularly
when you are using steps or a ladder.

10. Do not make any repairs to the hedge trimmers

by yourself, always give the machine to the
service shop.

11. Each time before using the hedge trimmers,

check if they are not damaged or worn out. Do
not use hedge trimmers with a damaged or
excessively worn-out cutting part but have it
replaced in the service shop.

12. The operational noise on the site can exceed

85 dB(A). Therefore use protective means for
ears. Attention: Noise protection !  Please
observe the local regulations when operating
your device.

13. Ensure that all protective devices and handles

are installed on the machine. Never try to put an
incomplete machine in operation.

14. Do not make any changes to your hedge

trimmers.

15. Always hold the hedge trimmers with both

hands on the respective handles.

16. Always use the protective part designed for the

blade when transporting and storing the hedge
trimmers.

17. Before starting the work, make yourself

familiar with the surroundings and possible
dangers which you may not hear because of
the noise.

18. When working, always pay attention to alien

bodies such as a steel-wire or wooden fences
or thick branches. If the machine gets blocked,
take out the batteries immediately.

19. Do not use the hedge trimmers when it is

raining and do not use the hedge trimmers for
cutting wet hedges because in such a case the
water could get inside the machine.

20. Do not use any force to make the tool run

faster. The tool works best and most safe at
the speed it has been designed for.

21. Never carry the charging set by the cable. Do

not jerkily pull the cable in order to disconnect
the charging set from the outlet socket. Keep
the cable clear from heat, oil and sharp edges.

22. Avoid any unintended switch-on. Never carry

the hedge trimmer with your fingers touching
the ON/OFF switch.

23. Be careful. Watch all working steps and use

"common sense". Do not operate the tool
when you are tired.

24. Check the device for damaged parts. Before a

further use of the tool, al damaged safety
devices or other damaged parts should be
carefully inspected to determine whether they
still work properly and fulfil their original
function. Do also check the alignment of
moving parts and their free movement,
fractures of parts, any fastening elements, and
all other circumstances that may affect the
operation. A safety device or other parts that
are damaged should be properly repaired or
replaced by an authorised service organisation
