Adding Fuel
– Smoking Prohibited!
1. Loosen fuel cap slowly. Place it on a clean surface.
2. Carefully pour oil/gas mixture into tank, avoiding spillage.
3. Replace fuel cap immediately, and hand tighten. Clean up spilled fuel.
4. It is normal to see smoke coming out of the engine the first time it is used.
Note!
Always turn off engine before fueling. Do not fill fuel on a machine which is
running, or when the engine is hot. Move tool at least 10 feet away from filling location
before starting engine. Pause for at least 2 minutes before filling on fuel.
6. Start/Stop
Starting a Cold Engine:
Lay trimmer on level, bare surface. Move switch (figure 3, 1) to "Start" by pulling
it all the way back.
Fuel pump which is located below the air filter should be depressed completely a
couple of times. (figure 1, 6)
Set choker handle to choked position (figure 1, 3)
Activate safety grip (figure 3, 3) and push throttle in (figure 3, 4), then lock grip
with locking button (figure 3, 2)
Hold starter rope and pull, until motor starts (figure 1, 4).
Set choker handle to run position (figure 1, 3)
Starting a Warm Engine:
Set start switch to start (figure 3, 1).
Set the choke handle to ―OFF‖.
Hold starter rope and pull, until motor starts.
Stopping engine:
Release throttle (figure 3.4).
Set start switch to
―STOP" (figure 3, 1).
7. Operation of string head

When motor stops, the rotating string head should be held in dense grass or brush,
until it stops.

Always hold on to tool with both hands.

Machine must not be used, unless the shield is mounted correctly, and is in good
condition.

Always stop engine before attempting to remove materials which have been lodged
in or around string head.
