PurePath™ Smart Amp User Manual (TAS5766M/68M)
The
SmartEQ
section has two
panels that can be swapped by
clicking the
button. The
following controls are available:
•
Number of Biquads
•
Smoothing Factor
•
Dip Suppression
•
Spline Region
•
SPL Offset
The
Number of Biquads
dropdown determines how many biquads are used to create the
compensation curve. The typical value is 6 biquads.
The
Smoothing Factor
smoothes the Smart SPL curve by 1/n octave (n
th
octave). Typical
values are 1/3 and 1/6. Anything above will not provide much audible benefits, but can be used
to observe a raw acoustic response.
The
Dip Suppression
feature controls how many dBs can
the response dip. A 0dB setting means that dips are
completely suppressed, as shown to the right. A 1dB
setting means that the response is allowed to dip by 1dB.
The
Spline Region
determines the frequency range where the transition from
Smart Bass
to the
Measured SPL
takes place. The end result is the
Smart SPL
curve. The
Auto
option calculates
this range automatically, or can be manually changed by clicking
Manual
and selecting the
desired range.
The
SPL Offset
controls how much
offset is applied to the
Measured
SPL
curve relative to the
Smart
Bass
curve. For example, for a 2dB
offset, the
Measured SPL
curve will
shift up by 2dB. This can be useful
to fine adjust the overall SPL
response of the system.
