3.1 Preliminary Test Procedures
Before testing, check that:
•
the room temperature is between 5° and 40° C.
•
the exhaust of the vehicle is sealed:
•
close the muffler lock while the engine is running at idle: if the exhaust
seal is efficient you would not notice any gas leak from the joints.
•
the engine RPM at idle corresponds to that declared by the Manufacturer;
•
the temperature of the engine and the oil correspond to those indicated by
the Manufacturer (normally about 80°C).
•
Insert the exhaust gas probe into the exhaust pipe of the vehicle.
