Connecting the subwoofer

Danger

Danger of injury/damage!

Arrange the cables so that they do not pose a

trip hazard.

1. Pull the power plug of all devices to be connected out of the

socket to prevent accidental activation.

2. Use 4 stereo RCA cables to connect the LINE IN jacks

2

of the subwoofer with the 7.1 output jacks of a pream-

plifier, such as a DecoderStation or ControlStation. In

the process make sure that you always connect the ap-

propriate jacks with each other (e.g. CENTER/CENTER or

SUB / SUBWOOFER).

If you use a 5.1 source device (DecoderStation 5, DVD

player, sound card), the subwoofer input jacks REAR RIGHT

and REAR LEFT are not occupied. However, you can route the

SURR RIGHT and SURR LEFT signals to the REAR RIGHT and

REAR LEFT inputs using a cinch Y adapter. The same signals

will then be emitted via the SURR RIGHT and REAR RIGHT

as well as the SURR LEFT and REAR LEFT speaker outputs

though.

Connecting satellite speakers

Make sure the polarity is correct!

Connect the like coloured terminals. Otherwise the

sound quality will suffer.

The strands of the speaker cables are marked with different

colours or shapes.

1. The connector terminals

1

 for the satellite speakers are

located on the back side of the subwoofer.

Lay the included speaker cables from your subwoofer to

each of the speakers.

Little hint: Label the cables on the subwoofer side. This will

help when taking down and setting up the system.

2. Split the single wire down to approx. 30 mm on both ends

and strip approx. 10 mm of insulation off of each cord.

3. Twist the stripped single wire ends together so that no wire

protrudes. Tin coating is not necessary.

4. Turn the connector terminal counterclockwise until loose.

Run the stripped cable end into the now visible hole. Close

the terminal by turning it counterclockwise. The cable

has now been clamped in place. Connect all cables to the

subwoofer in this way.

5. Connect the other ends of the speaker cables to the satellite

speakers. The operating instructions of the speakers should

contain notes on this.
