Model Y Emergency Response Guide
Tap the Model Y key card on the driver’s side door pillar to unlock or lock the
vehicle, and once more on the center console to enable driving functionality.
The key fob is shaped like a miniature Model Y. It allows you to press
buttons to open the front and rear trunks and unlock, lock, and drive Model Y. Use the
key buttons as shown below.
Keys
Model Y supports 3 types of keys.
A personal smartphone can be set up to communicate with
Model Y using Bluetooth. If a smartphone is already paired to the vehicle, open the Tesla
mobile app on the smartphone and navigate to CONTROLS to unlock or lock Model Y.

1. Front trunk - Double-click to unlatch the front trunk.
2. Lock/Unlock All - Single-click to lock doors and trunks (all doors and trunks must be
closed). Double-click to unlock doors and trunks.
3. Rear trunk lid - Double-click to open or close the rear liftgate. Hold down for one to
two seconds to open the charge port door.
