Control of transmitter or other devices connected to Terra Bus port [11a] is possible using control panel
[2], [3], as well via USB adapter UD104 using Terra Link or CMH Master software.
Control panel and Terra Link software can access devices from group 1 and group 2 only. CMH Master
software can access any group address devices.
9.1 Terra Bus interface
This is a common management interface for most of devices, manufactured by Terra. The devices can be
accessed via USB adapter UD104 using Terra Link or CMH Master software. Connect USB adapter cable to
[11a] connector. Cable of next device should be connected from connector [11b] of first device to [11a] of
next device. When a device is accessed using this interface, “Addressed” indicator [4] will glow green.
Devices on Terra Bus are connected in parallel and can be connected up to 256 devices and controlled by
CMH Master software. Each device must have his unique adress. Device address could be set by configuration
DIP switch [10] on the back panel.
9.2 Addressing devices
Any device in a Terra Bus system has it’s group and unit address. All addresses must be unique, otherwise
data collision will happen.
Most of Terra Bus devices has DIP switches for configuration. The last device on the bus (the farthest from
Terra Bus master) must have “Last unit” switch turned on. The rest devices this switch must be turned off.
“Pull-ups” switch must be turned on for the first 20 devices on Terra Bus. The rest devices must turn off
these switches.
Group and unit addresses on Terra Bus are numbered starting from 1. They are configurable with DIP
switches [10] in binary format plus 1. See examples on pictures:
Unit = 4x1 + 2x0 + 1x1 + 1 = 6;
Group = 8x0
+ 4x0 + 2x0 + 1x1 + 1= 2
Unit = 4x0 + 2x0 + 1x0 + 1= 1;
Group = 8x0
+ 4x0 + 2x0 + 0x0 + 1= 1
Unit = 4x1 + 2x1 + 1x1 + 1= 8;
Group = 8x0
+ 4x0 + 2x1 + 0x0 + 1= 3
In this case, the device will not be accessible neither control panel, not Terra Link software as group
address is 3. In this case, only CMH Master software can access it.
