2.15 Firmware Upgrade

Make sure that the firmware file is for the correct Airscout Spectrum product! Also please
avoid downgrading to older firmware versions!

1.  Turn Airscout Spectrum on.
2.  From the main screen tap TOOLS & SETTINGS, then tap SERVICE MENU. Tap USB MODE.
3.  If the USB mode is already set to MASS STORAGE DEVICE, do nothing. If the USB mode is set to VIRTUAL COM

PORT, set it to MASS STORAGE DEVICE by tapping OK. (Alternatively, from the main menu tap PRESET

once and then again.)

4.  Connect the device to a computer.
5.  Copy both – the firmware file (with extension “.fw”) and the initialization file (with the extension “.ini”).
6.  Open the Airscout Spectrum drive and paste the two files into the FIRMWARE folder.
7.  Turn Airscout Spectrum off and back on. The text “FIRMWARE UPGRADE” should be shown.
8.  From the main screen tap TOOLS & SETTINGS, then tap the PRESET button. Confirm by tapping once more.
9.  Turn Airscout Spectrum off and back on.
10. Check the firmware version by tapping TOOLS & SETTINGS and then ABOUT.

PRESET restores Airscout Spectrum’s configuration to factory defaults.
To preserve the current configuration, before tapping PRESET, save it as a PROFILE,
and after the firmware upgrade process restore it.
