MAINTENANCE

355 MM300 (10--94)

BATTERY

The battery for the machine is a low maintenance

battery. Do not add water to the battery or remove

the battery vent plugs.

After the first 50 hours of operation, and every

800 hours after that, clean and tighten the battery

connections.

For Safety: When servicing machine,

avoid contact with battery acid.

BELTS AND CHAINS

ENGINE FAN BELT

The engine fan belt is driven by the engine

crankshaft pulley and drives the engine fan and

alternator pulleys. Proper belt tension is obtained

when the belt deflects 13 mm (0.50 in) from a

force of 4 to 5 kg (8 to 10 lb) applied at the

mid-point of the longest span.

Check and adjust the belt tension every 200 hours

of operation.

WARNING: Moving belt and fan. Keep

away.

STATIC DRAG CHAIN

A static drag chain prevents the buildup of static

electricity in the machine. The chain is attached to

the machine by a rear main brush skirt retaining

bolt.

Make sure the chain is touching the floor at all

times.
