NOTE: To determine the size of the branch gas line from the main gas line to the fireplace, enter the tables below (for iron
pipe or copper tubing) using the distance from the gas meter or second stage regulator to the furthest appliance on the
gas system. Select a pipe or tube diameter which has enough capacity to meet the maximum input requirement of the
fireplace. Regardless, do not use less than 1/2" diameter for the branch line. For any distances required longer than
shown in these tables, refer to the National Fuel Gas Code.
NOTE: There may be a local gas utility requirement specifying a minimum diameter for gas piping. All units require a 1/2 inch pipe
connection at the gas valve.

WARNING: Use only internally tinned copper tubing. If correct copper tubing is not used, tubing can deteriorate and
develop gas leaks.
Gas Code and National Fuel Gas Code - If galva-
nized piping is used, it must be EXTERNALLY
coated only! Galvanized water pipe used for gas
installations will result in reduced gas pressure
and gas leaks.
Thermostatic Fan Kit - Optional Kit
(# GDVTFK)
For installation of the optional fan, please refer to the
instructions included in the fan kit.
Electrical Services
All optional fan kits are equipped with a 120V, 60Hz
blower, less than 12 amps.
If electrical supply 120V is being roughed in to provide
for future installation of an optional blower kit, an
approved surface mount, steel electrical box, cover
and strain relief bushing must be installed in the
fireplace (supplied by others).
CAUTION: Should this fan require servicing, the
power supply must be disconnected.
NOTE: All electric connections are to be made in
accordance with CSA Standard C22.1 - Canadian
Electrical Code part 1 or with the National Electrical
Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 (latest edition) and/or in accor-
dance with local codes.
Speed Control Switch
The blower combination on/off switch and electronic
speed control is supplied loose to allow mounting in a
conveniently located wall mounted electrical box.
Wire speed control into black (hot) side of 120 V, 60 Hz
line as shown in blower wiring diagram. (Fig. 12)
