Siting
When mounted in vehicles
choose a location as far as possible from electrical cables, motors, lightning systems and electronic instruments (fig. 1).
When mounted in boats
, try to install it as high as possible at the top of the boat and as far from other antennas and metallic structures as possible.
Positioning
This is an
omni-directional antenna and therefore it is not necessary to direct it
.
Nevertheless we recommend to direct the antenna in the same direction of the movement of the vehicle to obtain minimum wind resistance (fig. 2).
P.S.U. siting
Install the power supply unit in a place protected against heat, hummidity ... etc, and ensure the minimum cable length between the antenna and
the PSU.
Only use the required length of coaxial cable (fig. 3).
Avoid kinks or bends less than the minimum radius quoted by the manufactures of the cable used.
