31. SETTINGS
You can configure your phone's various settings and learn more about your phone with the
Settings
app.
To open the
Settings
app, press
OK
from the home screen and select
Settings
from the
Menu
.
After opening the
Settings
app, press the left or right navigation key to view different categories
of settings (
Network & Connectivity
,
Personalisation
, etc.).
31.1 Network & Connectivity
Aeroplane Mode
Aeroplane mode turns off all functions that emit or receive signals, while leaving your phone on so
you can use apps that don’t require a signal or data.
While your phone is in aeroplane mode, all its communication functions are disabled including
phone calls, messaging, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Mobile network & Data
You can use this menu to view your SIM card’s carrier, enable data connection, enable data roaming,
and more.
The following options are available:
Option
Description
Carrier
Display the network operator of the SIM card, if has been inserted.
Data Connection
Turn this on to allow apps to use the mobile network when needed. Turn
this off to avoid incurring charges for data use on your mobile network,
particularly if you do not have a mobile data agreement.
Data Roaming
Turn data roaming on or off.
When abroad, this will allow the use of mobile data. Depending on your
subscription, this may incur additional charges.
APN Settings
Adjust various APN settings.
Wi-Fi
Turn Wi-Fi on or off and configure Wi-Fi options. For more info, see "18. WI-FI CONNECTION" on
Bluetooth
Bluetooth allows your phone to exchange data (videos, images, music, etc.) with another Bluetooth
device (phone, computer, printer, headset, car kit, etc.) within a close range.
After you turn Bluetooth on, the following options are available:
Option
Description
Visible to All
Turn this on to allow your phone to be discovered by other nearby
Bluetooth devices.
My Phone’s Name
View or change your phone’s name as it appears to other Bluetooth
devices.
