LabMaster 10 Zi-A Getting Started Guide

SET UP

Powering On/Off

Acquisition modules are shipped with a

cable

clamp

attached to the AC power inlet. Use a Philips

screwdriver to loosen the screw on the side of the

clamp, connect the power cord, then tighten the

screw to hold the cable connector securely in place.
Plug all modules into grounded, AC power outlets.
With the system fully connected, press the

Power

button

on the front of the MCM-Zi-A to turn on the

system. The button will light to show the system is

operational.

NOTE:

If any cable connections are incorrect, the system will not power on.

CAUTION.

Do not power on or calibrate with a signal attached.

Press the Power button again or use or the

File > Shutdown

 menu option

to execute a proper shut down process and preserve settings.

CAUTION

. Do not press and hold the Power button. This will

execute a hard shutdown, but may not preserve setups and data.

The Power button does not disconnect the LabMaster from the AC power

supply but puts it into "Standby" mode. Some “housekeeping” circuitry

continues to draw power. The only way to fully power down the system is

to unplug the power cords. We recommend unplugging the system if it will

remain unused for a long period of time.

CAUTION.

Do not change the Windows® Power setting to System

Standby or System Hibernate. Doing so may cause failure.

Probes and Adapters

Visit

teledynelecroy.com/probes

for probe specifications and

documentation

See the probe product page for LabMaster compatibility.

A variety of adapters are available to accommodate cables that have

different type interfaces than your acquisition modules.
•  A 1.85 mm V-female to V-female barrel adapter is delivered with

≥ 50 GHz bandwidth acquisition modules. The male connector is

mounted onto the oscilloscope connector panel when delivered. The

barrel adapter must be manually attached before connecting cables.

•  Two similar barrel adapters are included with 100 GHz acquisition

modules: a 1 mm female to 1 mm female adapter, and a 1 mm female

to 1.85 mm female adapter. Like the 1.85 mm adapter, they must be

manually attached before connecting cables. Use the 4ft•lb torque

wrench included standard.

•  The optional L2.92A-PLINK and L2.92A-PBUS adapters enable you to

connect a range of ProLink or ProBus probe platforms to the 2.92mm

and LEMO interfaces.

See the

LabMaster Oscilloscope Systems Operator’s Manual

 or LabMaster

Support for instructions on attaching adapters.
