Media jams and the paper path
Jams fall into the following four categories:

Media-based problems
■
Paper-picking errors
■
Printing jams
■
Paper-ejecting errors
Media-based problems
Media problems
1.
Test the paper path using the service tests described in “Phaser 740 service tests”
on page 77 or “Phaser 750 service tests” on page 80.
2.
Check that the correct type of media is being used. The customer should be
using a quality laser printer paper. The printer may have trouble picking slick-
finish paper.
3.
Inspect the paper for bent, torn or folded corners.
4.
Ensure that the correct media is loaded in the paper tray.
5.
Transparency film should only be used from a transparency tray or multi-
purpose tray.
6.
Refer to the media specifications in the table “Functional specifications,” on
page 24.
