Maintenance (Continued)

PUMP DISASSEMBLY (REFER TO
FIGURES 10 AND 11)

1. Disconnect power to motor.

2. Disconnect wires to pressure switch.

3. Remove pressure switch tube from

barbed elbow on pump body and
allow pump to drain.

4. Remove four hex nuts which hold the

pump body to the motor.

5. Remove the motor, seal plate,

impeller, diffuser and pad as a unit
(See Figure 11).

CLEANING/REPLACING IMPELLER

NOTE:

First, follow instructions under

“Pump Disassembly”.

1. Remove two screws fastening

diffuser to seal plate; remove diffuser
(See Reference Nos. 9 and 10, Figure
29, Page 15). Exposed impeller can
now be cleaned.

2. If impeller must be replaced, loosen

two machine screws and remove

motor canopy (See Figure 19). If
motor has a capacitor, go to step 3. If
motor does not have a capacitor, go
to step 6.

Capacitor voltage
may be hazardous.

To discharge capacitor, hold insulated-
handle screwdriver by the handle and
short capacitor terminals together (See
Figure 12). Do not touch metal
screwdriver blade or capacitor terminals.
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

3. Unscrew capacitor clamp and remove

capacitor. Do not disconnect
capacitor wires to motor.

4. Slide 7/16” open end wrench in

behind spring loaded switch on
motor end of shaft; hold motor shaft
with wrench on shaft flats and
unscrew impeller by turning
counterclockwise when looking into
eye of impeller.

5. To reinstall, reverse steps 1 through 4.

Mount diffuser as shown in Figure 20.

6. See directions under “Pump

Reassembly”.

CLEANING/REPLACING THE
SHALLOW WELL EJECTOR

NOTE:

First, follow instructions under

“Pump Disassembly”.

1. Unscrew venturi and remove it (See

Figure 13).

2. If necessary, unscrew and remove

nozzle with a 5/8” deepwell socket
wrench (See Figure 14).

3. Clean venturi and nozzle by carefully

inserting an icepick or other small
diameter pointed tool, dislodging
foreign material.

IMPORTANT:

Be careful not to enlarge

hole in nozzle or venturi. If venturi and
nozzle cannot be cleaned or are
damaged while cleaning, replace.

4. Reinstall venturi and nozzle by

threading clock-wise into pump
ejector body insert until snug. Do not
overtighten.

5. See directions under “Pump

Reassembly,” Page 12.

REMOVING OLD SEAL

1. Follow instructions under “Pump

Disassembly.”
