2.2 Description
The bending beams are designed for the measurement of static and dynamic measu-
ring requirements. They can measure tension and compression forces. They serve for
determining bending forces in diverse fields of application. The bending beam consists
of a measuring spring with strain gauges glued to it. The measuring body is made of
stainless steel and is elastically deformed by a compression force introduced in the
force direction. The resulting mechanical tensions are measured by the applied strain
gauges and output as a raw electrical signal.
